Our association’s funding comes from membership fees, fundraising, donations and relies on volonteer work. So far our activity costs are app. 200 thousand euros and mainly been used to cover legal expenses.
Today Pro Kuusamo Ry has more 1.100 members; – mainly private persons, who want to preserve Kuusamo’s unique nature and its sustainable livelihoods.
We organize events to provide information on the development prospects of nature-based industries and updated news related to mining activity. We follow local and regional land projects and decisions made by authorities. We inform and give answers to our members concerning mining exploration, statements and reports.
